Discount codes
Discount codes give your buyers a price reduction at checkout. You create them once and they work across every event in your organisation.
1. Open the discount codes screen
You can manage codes in two places:
- Discount codes in the dashboard sidebar lists every code of your organisation.
- On an event, open the Tickets tab and choose Discount codes. This shows only the codes that apply to that event (organisation-wide codes plus codes restricted to it). A code you create here is limited to that event by default; you can widen it to other events in the form.
Both views edit the same codes, so a change made on an event is visible in the organisation list and vice versa.
2. Configure the code
Each code has:
- Code — the text customers type, for example
EARLYBIRD. - Type and value — choose a percentage off or a fixed amount off, then set the value.
- Applies to — the base ticket price only, or the total including add-ons.
- Conditions (optional) — require a minimum number of tickets, limit the code to specific ticket types, or restrict it to a date range.
- Active / inactive switch — turn a code on or off without deleting it.
3. Track redemptions
Every time a code is used, Cleartix counts the redemption, so you can see how often each code is applied and which campaigns work best.
Tip: Set an early-bird percentage with a date range so it expires automatically — no need to remember to switch it off.
How customers use it
Customers click Have a discount code? under the ticket list on the event page and enter the code there; see the checkout experience. If the conditions are met, the discount is applied to the order before payment.
