Passes and class packs

A pass sells a bundle of credits that a customer can spend across your events — perfect for class packs, multi-entry deals or season bundles.

1. Create a pass

Go to Passes → New pass to set one up.

2. Choose a scope

The scope decides where the pass can be redeemed:

  • Org-wide — any of your events.
  • Series — events created from one template.
  • Event — specific events you pick.
  • Ticket types — specific ticket types only.

3. Set the details

  • Name and description.
  • Price.
  • Credits — the number of uses the pass includes.
  • Validity (optional) — how many days the pass stays usable after purchase.

How customers use it

The customer buys the pass once. To redeem a credit, they open an eligible event page, enter the email address linked to their pass in the class-pack box and pick the pass to use. We then email them a confirmation link — the credit is only spent once they click that link and confirm (each link works once and expires after 1 hour). After confirming, they land on their order confirmation with their ticket. Each booking spends one credit until the pass runs out or expires.

Why the email step? It protects your customers: nobody can spend someone else's credits just by knowing their email address.

Tip: A class pack works well as a ticket-types scope pass — for example 10 credits valid only on your "Drop-in class" ticket type — so credits can't be spent on unrelated events.

How customers buy a pass

Customers buy passes themselves on your public passes page at https://<your-subdomain>.cleartix.io/passes (or your custom domain + /passes). Every event that accepts a pass also shows a Class packs section linking there.

  • Payment works like ticket sales: online via your connected payment provider, or by bank transfer if you have wire transfers enabled.
  • The pass is delivered by email as soon as the payment is confirmed. For bank transfers, confirm receipt with Mark as paid on the pass page — the pass email goes out at that moment, and the validity period starts then too.
  • Each purchase appears under Passes → your pass → Orders, and the issued pass under Sold passes.

Refunds: a pass order can only be refunded in full and only while no credits have been used. Refunding immediately deactivates the pass.
