The onboarding checklist
After you sign up, your dashboard shows an onboarding checklist. Each step prepares your account so you can sell tickets and invoice correctly. Here's why each one matters.
1. Company details
Add your legal organization name, VAT number, VAT rate, and billing address. Cleartix uses these for correct invoicing and to apply the right VAT on every ticket you sell.
2. Privacy policy
Add your privacy policy as a URL or as inline text. This is required before customers can check out: as the event organizer, you are the data controller (under GDPR) for your attendees' personal data, so the policy must be available at checkout.
3. Connect a payment method
You can't accept paid orders until a payment method is connected. Cleartix supports three options, set up under Settings → Payments:
- Stripe and Mollie — connected through a secure OAuth flow; payouts go straight to your own account.
- Bank wire transfer — your bank details are shown at checkout and you confirm receipt manually.
4. Create your first event
Once payments and your privacy policy are in place, create an event. The quick-start guide walks you through it step by step.
5. Customize emails (optional)
Make confirmation emails match your brand with your logo, colors, and wording. This step is optional but adds a professional, trustworthy finish.
Tip: You can dismiss the checklist once everything is done — it's there to guide setup, not to stay forever.
