A Weezevent alternative for Belgian organisers
Using Weezevent and wondering whether there is a better fit for a club or small organiser in Belgium? These are the criteria that matter: payouts, Bancontact, entry control and branding.
Weezevent: what the platform does well
Weezevent is a well-established ticketing player in France. The platform covers a lot of ground: online ticketing, access control with a mobile app and NFC, and cashless solutions for festivals. For a large event that wants everything from a single supplier, it is a logical choice.
On the money side, Weezevent collects the sales on your behalf and pays the takings out to you. According to its pricing page, that payout happens every 15 days, and the fees are calculated as a percentage of the ticket price, with a minimum per ticket.
What a Belgian organiser is often looking for
A club dinner, a school fete, a club tournament or an end-of-year show does not have the needs of a 30,000-person festival. The questions that come up are simpler:
- Where does the money go? Many treasurers prefer payments to arrive straight in the club's account, without an intermediary.
- Is Bancontact there? Your Belgian buyers are used to it.
- Can the volunteers cope? On the day you need entry control that anyone can start on their own phone.
- Does the audience stay with us? A ticket page in your colours, or embedded in your own website, strengthens your club rather than a third-party platform.
ClearTix: ticketing built in Belgium
ClearTix was born in Haaltert, out of frustration with platforms that did not suit our own photo club. The tool is designed for clubs, schools, sports clubs and organisers who sell from a few dozen to a few thousand tickets.
- Your own Mollie or Stripe account. Payments arrive in your account, on Mollie's or Stripe's payout schedule. You do not depend on a payout calendar from the ticketing platform.
- Bancontact, cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, through Mollie or Stripe.
- A fixed amount per ticket, never a percentage of your takings. A free ticket costs nothing.
- Scanning in the browser. No app to install, no hardware to rent. The scanner keeps working when the connection gets weak.
- Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes included on every plan.
- Pages in Dutch, French and English, with automatic language detection.
- Hosting in the EU (Germany), with no data transfers outside the EU. See our GDPR checklist.
- The everyday features: timeslots, attendee forms, discount codes, waitlist, hidden tickets and access codes.

How do you switch from Weezevent to ClearTix?
- Create an account and set up your event again with its ticket types.
- Connect your Mollie or Stripe account and enable Bancontact.
- Replace the ticket link on your website, in your e-mails and on your social channels.
- On the day, open the scanner in your volunteers' browsers.
Nothing needs installing on the buyer's side. The safest moment to switch is between two events rather than in the middle of a sale.

Frequently asked questions
- Why look for an alternative to Weezevent?
- Weezevent is a solid platform, originally built for the French market and large events (cashless, NFC access control). A Belgian club, school or sports club often looks for something else: Bancontact by default, the money straight into its own account and a simple tool that volunteers understand right away.
- With ClearTix, who collects the ticket money?
- You do. You connect your own Mollie or Stripe account, and payments arrive in that account. ClearTix does not hold your takings and you do not wait for a payout from the platform.
- Can my buyers pay with Bancontact?
- Yes. Through Mollie or Stripe, your buyers pay with Bancontact, Visa/Mastercard, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Booking pages are available in Dutch, French and English, and the browser language is detected automatically.
- Do I need an app or hardware to scan tickets?
- No. The scanner opens in the browser of a smartphone, tablet or laptop. You need an internet connection to open it, but scanning keeps working when the connection in the venue gets weak.
- What does ClearTix cost?
- The Free plan has no subscription (€0/month). The rate is a fixed amount per ticket; a free ticket costs nothing. The exact amounts are on the pricing page.
