Fotoclub ISO9450: from inspiration day to talks, all through one ticket shop
A club of amateur photographers in Haaltert that runs ticket sales for its public events itself, with no monthly subscription.
Who is Fotoclub ISO9450?
Fotoclub Haaltert ISO 9450 is an enthusiastic club of amateur photographers in Haaltert, Belgium, founded in 2021. The name refers to a camera's light sensitivity and to the town's postcode. Every two weeks the members meet for a photo café, and the club also organises photo walks, workshops, an annual exhibition and public talks by guest photographers. The highlight of the year is the inspiration day: one day, several top photographers, in a venue nearby.
The challenge
A simple list was enough for members-only activities, but for the inspiration day and the talks the board wanted to sell tickets to a wider audience. That means a limited number of seats, possibly a separate member rate, payments that land neatly in the club account and a way to see at the door who has already paid. Paying a monthly subscription for a handful of events a year was not an option.
Ticket sales on their own website
With ClearTix the club set up a ticket shop in its own branding. Each event gets the ticket types it needs, for example a member rate next to a guest rate, and sales stop automatically once the room is full. The ticket shop is embedded directly on iso9450.be, so visitors never have to click through to another site. Anyone who buys a ticket receives a QR ticket by email within seconds, plus an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet pass.
Check-in at the door with the browser scanner
On the day, a board member opens the ClearTix scanner in the browser of their own phone. Nothing to install, no devices to rent: the attendee list is downloaded at start-up, so scanning keeps working when the signal drops inside the venue. Each QR code is accepted only once, so a ticket used twice stands out immediately.
Payouts via Stripe
The club connected its own Stripe account to ClearTix. Visitors pay with Bancontact or card and the money goes straight to the club account, without ClearTix ever holding it. The treasurer can see in Stripe exactly which order belongs to which payout. ClearTix only charges a flat fee per ticket sold, never a percentage of revenue.
The result
The board now runs ticket sales entirely on its own: a new event is online in fifteen minutes, the cash box at the door is gone and the books add up. Fotoclub ISO9450 runs on the free ClearTix plan: no monthly cost, only a flat fee per ticket sold.
